A single-breasted, single vent jacket, remade from a vintage chic and cool pongee (tsumugi) kimono. Its simple weave pattern and rustic texture with a slight luster and thickness that is peculiar to pongee are the points of attraction.
Wasoukan’s original jacket based on Wasoukan’s philosophy “Connecting the Japanese spirit to the world and to the future”, designed in London as a new way to enjoy Japanese fashion. The selection was well received in Wasoukan’s London branch.
<Yuki Tsumugi>
A pongee fabric that uses pre-dyed yarns to create pattern through weaving.
It is a high-class fabric since the Nara period (710-794), mainly produced in the prefectures of Ibaraki and Tochigi, and is designated as Japan’s Important Intangible Cultural Property.
